Radome seal

The radome is a shield that protects the radar and/or antennas from weather and impact.
The dome-shaped radome can be hinged at the side or top.
The radome is joined to the fuselage by a lip seal. The lip seal has the advantage of requiring little compression force.
It can also be fastened with pins, as it is infrequently opened.
To guarantee continuity of the electromagnetic shield, an EMI seal is sometimes required.
We put our expertise and production know-how at your disposal to design the seal best suited to your environment in terms of weight, cost and functionality.

Details

Radomes (contraction of Radar and Dome) are protective elements used mainly to shield radar antennas from weather, debris, birds and extreme weather conditions.
They are made from lightweight, impact-resistant materials such as carbon fiber and aramid impregnated with epoxy resin.
Their main function is to protect radar antennae from external aggression (snow, hail, birds, etc.). As radars are important navigation instruments, the radome plays a crucial role in flight safety.
They are present on all aircraft, but can also be found on ships and military land vehicles.
