MIL-W-5625 tubular nylon webbing

The MIL-W-5625 specification, also associated with PIA-W-5625, covers tubular nylon webbing.
Unlike conventional flat webbing, MIL-W-5625 uses a hollow tubular construction that provides flexibility, abrasion resistance around edges and useful knotting or splicing characteristics.
Made from high-tenacity Nylon 6.6, it combines strength, low mass and controlled elongation for dynamic applications.

Width and breaking-load classes

Different widths are associated with different minimum breaking-load requirements. The available product range allows the webbing to be selected for the required load and hardware geometry.

Typical applications

  • parachute static-line and rigging systems,
  • aerospace safety lanyards,
  • extraction and rescue systems,
  • technical slings and flexible attachment loops.

    MIL-W-5625 vs MIL-W-4088

MIL-W-4088 uses heavy flat webbing. MIL-W-5625 uses a tubular construction where greater flexibility, routing around shapes or low-profile loop formation is required.
