The MIL-T-713 specification covers lacing and tying cord used to bundle and secure cable harnesses and other components.
It is intended for aerospace, defence and electrical applications where a compact textile fastening system is required.
Materials and finishes
Depending on the applicable type and class, MIL-T-713 products may use natural or synthetic fibres and specified finishes intended to improve handling, knot retention or environmental resistance.
Typical applications
electrical cable-harness lacing,
bundling and securing wiring,
aerospace and defence electrical installations,
compact textile fastening where added thickness must be limited.
MIL-T-713 vs MIL-T-43435
MIL-T-713 covers lacing cord/twine, while MIL-T-43435 covers flat lacing tape. The flatter tape geometry distributes tightening force over a wider surface, whereas cord is suited to applications where a round section is acceptable.
