MIL-T-5666 military tubular nylon webbing

The MIL-T-5666 specification, also associated with PIA-T-5666, covers high-tenacity nylon textile tape/webbing used in aerospace and defence applications.
Made from Nylon 6.6, the product is intended for parachute systems, cargo-drop assemblies and safety-related textile equipment where abrasion resistance and breaking strength are important.

Technical characteristics

Nylon 6.6 construction: Provides strength, abrasion resistance and useful energy absorption under dynamic loading.
Environmental performance: Product finishes can be selected according to programme requirements for UV exposure, mildew resistance or sewing behaviour.
Military colours: Standard or programme-specific colours and IR requirements can be applied where specified.

MIL-T-5666 vs MIL-T-5038

MIL-T-5038 is generally used as a lighter binding or reinforcement tape. MIL-T-5666 is intended for stronger structural reinforcement and attachment functions.

MIL-T-5666 vs MIL-T-5608

MIL-T-5608 is focused on parachute canopy and stabilization tape, while MIL-T-5666 is used for structural reinforcement and attachment applications.

MIL-T-5666 vs MIL-T-5661

MIL-T-5661 covers cotton tape, including controlled-break applications. MIL-T-5666 uses nylon and is selected for durability and higher-strength reinforcement.
