Standard Seals

Seals can be manufactured to a specific geometry, but they can also be supplied in straight lengths.

Some straight-length profiles are flexible enough to follow non-linear installation paths.

Several aerospace standard families exist, including ASNA, ABS and NSA. Materials are commonly specified according to standards such as NFL17-250, ABR4-0080 or ABR9-0142.

Sealicone aerospace sealing solutions are designed to withstand demanding environmental and functional loads.

Resistance to environmental conditions

Seals may need to withstand extreme temperatures, exposure to fluids such as Skydrol, fuel and de-icing products, as well as sand, dust and biological contamination. Depending on the application, testing can be performed in accordance with procedures defined by standards such as RTCA DO-160, ABD0031, FAR 25.853 or MIL-STD-810.

Resistance to mechanical loads

Sealing components must also withstand mechanical loads including abrasion, pressurization and significant deformation.
