MIL-R-17343 nylon rope

The MIL-R-17343 specification, succeeded by MIL-PRF-17343, covers nylon rope for general-purpose applications.
The rope is intended where high strength or stretch is required, including mooring, towing and hoisting operations.

Technical characteristics

Material: Nylon.
Dynamic behaviour: Nylon provides substantial elongation and energy absorption under load.
General-purpose marine use: Suitable for handling, mooring, towing and hoisting applications according to the specified rope size and construction.
The previous polyester description was inconsistent with the military specification and has been corrected.
