MIL-B-371 Type IV, V, VII polypropylene rope

MIL-B-371 polypropylene rope: floating and hydrophobic military cordage

The MIL-B-371 polypropylene version is a technical rope intended for defence and industrial applications in marine, wet or chemically aggressive environments.
Compared with cotton versions of the same specification, high-tenacity polypropylene offers positive buoyancy, very low water absorption and strong resistance to many chemicals.

Technical characteristics of MIL-B-371 polypropylene rope

Material: Polypropylene.
Positive buoyancy: Its density is lower than that of water, allowing the rope to float.
Hydrophobic behaviour: Polypropylene absorbs very little water, helping the rope retain its mass and handling characteristics in wet environments.
Chemical resistance: Polypropylene offers good resistance to many acids, alkalis and saline environments.

Typical applications

Marine and naval operations: Floating safety lines, light mooring and towing applications.
Military engineering and logistics: Floating barriers or marking systems.
Field logistics: Lightweight securing applications for equipment exposed to weather.
